If you look back to the 70s and 80s, many people were able to get by without even having a high school diploma. You could get a labor job and make $20 an hour without much effort. These days, these jobs are much harder to acquire. Not getting some sort of post high school education these days is the equivalent of dropping out of high school 20 years ago.

How To Become Successful
The First step to success is to think and decide what you really desire. All successful people have this skill in abundance. It starts with Imagination. Most successful people have a strong ability to imagine things which they have n't achieved but will. So anything you want to achieve in the external world it should first start in the inner world of your mind. Many people are scared to write down what they want because they think they have to commit themselves. To many, Success frightens them. So if you want to be successful in life you have to write down your goals and dreams. Ask yourself what things you want in life. (e.g) health, wealth and happiness. Write each goals on a sheet of paper. Next you need to ask yourself what is a reasonable time to achieve those goals. Goals should be Short term, Intermediate and long term. Next ask yourself what you have to do to achieve those goals. What new skills you have to learn or acquire, what character traits to develop and people you have to role model.
How a Biscuit Taught Me a Priceless Lesson in Life
There are no two greater ironic comparisons than that of a biscuit and life. For over two decades, I'd feverishly tried to bake biscuits. Being a baking 'connoisseur,' I was quite disheartened that I could easily knead & bake home-made yeast, cinnamon rolls and croissants - but try as I did, I could never grasp the technique of making southern-baked biscuits. Regardless whether I used the quick mix or home-made recipe kind, somehow my biscuits either came out of the oven with the texture of mortar, fell apart like charcoal briquettes or tasted like salty play-doh. In any event, it was my solemn quest to bake these tasty breakfast breads some time before I die.

Success Takes Practice
As a speaker and trainer, people often approach me after one of my programs to tell me how excited they are about the strategies they have learned and how they plan to put these ideas into action. When I connect with these people later on and ask how the techniques are working for them, I usually get answers such as "I really planned to use them but then things got so crazy that I never had the chance." or "I tried them once and wasn't successful so I gave up."
Ten, Humourous, Power Attitudes
The ability to achieve our enormous untapped potential is directly related to the attitudes we possess. Positive attitudes empower us to achieve while negative attitudes tend to keep us rooted where we are.
Re-defining Success in Midlife
When entering second adulthood, many women will begin a journey of re-defining personal and professional success for themselves. In midlife, success takes on a new meaning than it had in our 20's and 30's when it was most likely being defined more by others, the current culture, the past, hope or advertising. Our forming of new, revised, more authentic definitions of success are a reflection of our wiser, deeper, more experienced selves which sets us free to enjoy our life and work more completely because we are no longer defined or boxed in by outside influences. There is a sense of release from priorities that are no longer relevant or meaningful.
