|Secret To Getting Anything?|
I confess, I love westerns. There is nothing like those "Showdown" scenes where the film is shot from down low and you see those boots moving slowly, step by step until they come to a stop just 100 feet from the other guy. Tumble weed blows by. The wind stirs the dust. The camera moves up and you see fingers twitching, getting ready to draw. You know that it is only a few moments until the good guy lets the bad guy have it and he'll be on his way to saving the day and setting the town free again. All that stands in his way is this one obstacle. But that obstacle must be put away.
What would you do in that situation? Would you save the day and proceed to victory, or would you run and hide? Running and hiding is tempting when you see the guy all dressed in black, symbolizing your impending doom!
Isn't that what happens regularly though? Our journey to success always has these "Showdowns" that we have to go through if we are going to get there. There are always going to be "bad guys" we have to get through.
Let's take a look at a few:
Fear. Fear is the pre-imminent "bad guy." He keeps millions of people from success. Here is a secret: There are times when I am stretching myself to achieve all that I can, when I am taking huge risks, that I wake up in the middle of the night and I am so scared I can't sleep! Fear will tell you anything to keep you from even trying! But do you know what takes care of fear? Persistence. You see, everybody has fear. The most successful people I know have fear. But they work through it rather than give up! To be successful you have to have and win that showdown with fear.
Crowd mentality. I have become increasingly aware of this in recent years. The crowd is loud. They are tenacious in letting you know that they expect you to do things their way or something is just not right. You know, it is the relative who calls you a dreamer. It is the naysayers. They want you to do what is normal. Well friend, nobody ever got successful doing what the crowd does. The crowd is average, that's why they're the crowd! To be successful you have to have that showdown with the calling of the crowd. Hear their voices screaming, "Don't do that. Be like us," and win the showdown.
Doubt. Success usually takes a while. It rarely comes overnight. And after some time, you will begin to doubt. "Am I dreaming too big?" "Did I take a dumb risk?" "Should I quit and go back to something safe?" Rest assured, it will come. But this is when your vision must be string and you must keep going. Stick with the dream. Don't give up! Overcome your doubt and the doubts of others! To be successful you must have that showdown with doubt and win!
Yes, there will be many showdowns. The above are but a few, though they are the major ones. Maybe you are experiencing them even now. Your time has come. The old western music is playing. Your foe dressed in black grins that devilish grin. He thinks you can't do it. But have your showdown. Win. Then ride off into the sunset!

Success: How To Succeed Most of the Time
We set goals, strive for them and only consider ourselves successful if we attain them and attain them well. Reaching milestones is important BUT when we equate those milestones with "success", we get ourselves in trouble. Sometimes reaching certain goals just doesn't happen because there are circumstances that are completely out of our control or there are other factors that prevent our accomplishment. That being the case, we can't "succeed" if success only means getting to our goal.
How to Make Success a Habit
Want to make success a habit in your life? If you've got determination, it may be simpler than what you think. All you need is a slight change in your thinking pattern. Changing your thoughts will change your beliefs, your expectations, your attitude, and consequently, your behavior. A change in behavior will eventually lead you to a change in performance. And when you perform at your peak, you succeed. It doesn't matter where you are in life, or what you do for a living, if you just modify the way you look at things, the way you think about things, you can achieve success.

Creating A Life You Love
Imagine that right now, right here, today? there is within your grasp not one but several opportunities to redesign specific aspects of your life so that the sum total is a life you absolutely love. Then imagine that the only thing standing between you and your opportunities is a closed mind, fear, habits, concern, worry, drama, or perhaps mental, physical, and emotional clutter. Do you know what a default is? It's what you get when you don't choose to get something else and for most of us a default life is average and mediocre with sprinkles of joy in between. A default life is living for the weekend. A default like is hanging on 'til retirement. A default life is waiting for the kids to grow up, move out, and finish college. A default life is waiting, and waiting, and waiting for things to get better someday?one day.

Language constitutes our belief system. What we believe is true for us or our version of reality at large. One way of re-patterning our beliefs to give us more of the experiences we want in life is to change the way that we speak. Here are some words to begin the process. Use the substitution words as noted. To further affirm this, use 5 practice sentences where the old word would have been used and use the new word instead. Have fun!

What Does YOUR Success Look Like?
What does success look like to you? Our culture often defines success as money, fame, power ? something between a Pepsi ad and a car commercial. But success is more than financial rewards, the "right" car, or the "right" job. The news is full of stories of "successful" people sabotaging themselves with poor choices. Obviously fame and money were not enough to make them feel successful in their hearts. For success to matter it needs to be on your own terms.
The Power Of Language: How To Language Your Future
Imagine living in the world that Helen Keller found herself in nineteen months after arriving on this planet. A world that was dark and silent as the result of a high fever that eliminated her ability to see and hear. In her autobiography, Helen wrote, "Then?came the illness which closed my eyes and ears and plunged me into the unconsciousness of a newborn baby." By the time Anne Sullivan came along to teach her, Helen's ability to communicate was confined to very basic gestures and sounds.
