|Secret To Getting Anything?
Why Are Manhole Covers Round?
Recently I stumbled across a list of Microsoft Interview questions and was amazed by how the questions challenged me to look beyond the ordinary. I share some of the questions for you here in the hopes that you also will recognize the spark of creativity that is required to solve these fascinating puzzles.
The experts tell us that we each have somewhere around 60,000 thoughts every single day. What most people don't realize is that the average person asks themselves the same questions over and over again.
Same question. Same Answer. Within this pattern is a trap of monumental proportions.
A true treadmill.
"Why does this always happen to me?"
There is much to be learned by understanding that the quality of your life depends upon the questions that you constantly ask yourself. If you want to experience the type of life you truly deserve we need to shake things up a bit the Microsoft Way!
Focus the Microsoft Way!
Bill Gates is a puzzle aficionado. I was fascinated with this because puzzles were originally created as a means of hiding or disguising knowledge by breaking the wisdom down into smaller pieces. Long ago I learned that the best teachers were those that asked the most intriguing questions. Needless to say, the same can be said of companies.
This list of questions is fascinating and will definitely stretch your boundaries. Remember?.think outside the box, look at them as a puzzle and search for the possibilities. The sky is the LIMIT! May the creative force be with you!
"Why are manhole covers round?"
"How many gas stations are there in the United States?"
"How are M&M's made?"
"You have been assigned to design Bill Gates bathroom. Naturally, cost is not a consideration. You may not speak to Bill. What would you do?"
"How would you explain how to use Microsoft Excel to your grandma?"
"Explain a scenario for testing a salt shaker."
"How would you design a coffee-machine for an automobile."
"How would you go about building a keyboard for 1-handed users?"
"How would you build an alarm clock for deaf people?"
Interesting aren't they? Were you disturbed by these questions? Or were you fascinated by the possibilities they presented? I can understand why Microsoft is such a successful organization when creativity of this nature is expected right from the first job interview.
Internet Marketing Expert, Mark Hendricks said it best when he stated; "Problems have solutions, they are made that way."
Apply this logic to your life and business!
It seems that the software developers Microsoft first ask themselves, "what is it that you want to experience?" Then, they build a belief system to ensure that experience is supported and created. This is incredibly shrewd knowledge that we can all apply to our lives and businesses.
Upon first reading the questions I couldn't help but sympathize with those prospective employees who had perfect scholastic records but lacked the imagination to confront the possibilities. Success in life often has very little to do with book smarts. Great technology starts with great attitude.
So what is it that you want to experience in your life or business? Believe it or not, limitations live only in your mind. But if you use your imagination, your possibilities become limitless.
Those individuals who live truly fulfilling lives discover that they have managed to challenge their current realities by confronting their imaginations for what is truly possible. When I worked through the above questions I quickly discovered that "HOW" I confronted a problem determined the RESULT I could achieve. How quickly can you change your beliefs about what is possible?
Albert Einstein once said that "the mind that solves a problem is very different from the mind that first confronted it." From this simple statement we can begin to appreciate that within every question lies either a prison of limitations or an endless series of possibilities. The choice is clearly yours.
So the next time you are confronted with a problem in your business or personal life that seems monumental, I challenge you to ask yourself?."Why are manhole covers round?"
That ought to change your focus around long enough to be able to look at the problem through a new set of eyes.

What People Say about the People They Work With Reflects on Themselves
Often, what people say about other people behind their backs is a nasty reflection on the talker. You might be surprised by what I heard from an IRS executive.
The Impossible Dream
The 72,500 men, women and children sat in an uncomfortable silence, no one daring to cough, no one daring to speak, each one focussed on the young 27 year old. Each one knowing, this was the start of the impossible dream. The dream they had had for 27 years. A dream they had dreamed every year of this boy's life. Now it could become reality. Now it was possible.

How Important is Your Lemonade Stand?
When my neighbor's child was about 8, he decided that he wanted to lemonade stand. He asked me to help him, which I did. And he was very serious about the whole matter. The stand had to look like a "real store." The "lemonade needed "real" lemons. We had to go to the bank, so that he would have, as he put it, "the appropriate amount of change needed to complete any sale," etc. He had me sign a work contract with him ? made out of crayons ? and tested me on my ability to count out change. (Luckily, he was unaware of business insurance, city permits, and employee benefits!)
Evaluating Your Associations (Part Two)
Two weeks ago we took a look at the power of influence in our lives and how it is possible to be nudged off course a little at a time until finally, we find ourselves asking, "How did I get here?"
Very few of us can pick up a complex task and ace it the first time we try it. Take typing. In all the years I taught it, I never had a single student sit down at the keyboard and type 60-70 words a minute their first time.
How to Have an Amazingly Satisfying Year
I started taking stock of my year in 2002. I found it useful at the end of the year to list what I have accomplished, what I am thrilled about, what I wished had turned out differently, what I am proud of, what I learned, what were the pleasant surprises, and the not so pleasant ones, what I want to develop as a habit, and what I want to do differently in the future.

Freedom, the Foundation of Your Desires
Freedom is the deeper meaning, the foundation behind all of your desires. When you want more money, what you really want is the freedom to have and to give anything. When you want better relationships, what you desire to experience is the freedom to be yourself, to love and to be loved. When you want a different career, what you want is the freedom to be able to express your unique talents and passions and to fulfill your purpose. When you want improved health and body, you are yearning for the freedom of being happy physically and loving your physical form.
Self Discipline And Business Success
In his audio e-book, 10 Habits to Swell Your Bank Account, Mike Green cites "discipline" as one of the 10 bank-account-swelling habits. I once received an email from an online marketing friend, which stated something to the effect of "how hard do we work? If people think earning money online is easy their crazy. Don't burn to much midnight oil."
People Are Who They Want To Be
Choice isn't always a matter of being able to choose what happens to us. Life happens, and often without any say from us. However, our circumstances do not determine who we become. Only we have the choice to determine that. Everyone is who he or she wants to be, regardless of what one might think. We all have choices and each choice leads to the creation of who we are.
Ready? Go! Tweak!
Let's set the scene. You're in a packed stadium. It's the Olympics and you're watching the 100-metre sprint. You're up in the nosebleed section and you see what resembles little "ants" stretching on the field as they prepare for their 10-second mad dash to the finish line. As the race is about to begin, the official hollers: "Ready? Set. Go!" And off they go, as fast as the wind, with the hopes of finishing first among a handful of equally talented competitors.
Are You Afraid of Success?
You may not realise it yet but you may have been "programmed" to fail!
By popular request, I thought I would put together this little list of simple things you can do to increase cash flow ...sometimes, the most absurd and smallest practices seem to work better than a ritual that you have to make into a big dramatic production. I have tried these ones and they have at one time or another worked for me...

Change Your Results by Changing Your Expectations
