Limiting Beliefs - How to Break Through the Barrier
Circus trainers used to tie a chain around a baby elephant's ankle to stop it from escaping. The chain would be connected to a tall spike which was hammered deep into the ground. As a baby, the elephant was not strong enough to pull out the spike, and so it learned not to try. As the elephant became fully grown, it continued to believe that it could not escape, even though it was easily strong enough.
The moral of the story is:
If you don't test some of your old, limiting beliefs, you will stay stuck in your present circumstances.
So how many invisible chains do you have tied around your ankles?
Successful people have learned how to break through those limiting beliefs that hold them back from achieving their goals. For example, they believe they are not too old to try something new - they are wise. Nor are they too young - they have energy. Unlike the elephant destined to walk around and around in circles, successful people choose a direction and don't give up until they get there.
You can free yourself from chains and spikes in all areas of your life. Is there a situation you seem to find yourself in time and time again? Do you feel "stuck"? If so, pick one thing hat you feel could be holding you back from achieving success. That is a strong limiting belief.
Chances are, just like the elephant doubting its own strength, you are doubting your own ability. Try acting "as if" you don't have that belief any more, and see what kind of results you get. You just might surprise yourself!

Characteristics of Successful People
Each human being, who exists above the level of simple survival and therefore has the freedom to think and make choices, has the opportunity to choose to live either a life that is 'on purpose' or by accident.
What Makes One Person Succeed While Someone Else Fails
What characteristics are common among successful people. If you analyze the success stories of history, business or your own personal experience you'll find similar habits and patterns among successful people. You'll find these people to be persistent, hard-working, continually educating themselves and able to adapt to certain situations. These two saying are fine but you need to remember each of them says simply if you want to make it you will have to do more than the next person. Please keep in mind this does not require you to become a slave to your own business or organization.

Balance Of Life
Mary and Susan were friends for years. They grew up together and attended the same schools. They were now both in their 40's, and both had great careers. They both had a similar upbringing - same education, same family values, similar support and financial position. But there was one main difference. Mary never seemed to have enough time. She watched her life long friend Susan. She had similar responsibilities and interests. Susan had a career, she had three children, she had her hobbies, one of which included golf. Over lunch, Susan was telling Mary about the golf game that she played last weekend.
Finding Your Purpose
What is success? As author and speaker Earl Nightingale said, success is the steady progression toward a worthy ideal. Success is the ability to love, enjoy your work, and have fun in your life. Success is making a difference, a positive difference. Success is making the world a little bit better because you existed. And success begins with purpose.
