Top Ten Ways to Achieve Personal and Professional Independence
1. Clearly define what you want and what is most important to you.
Here's the deal, you have to look at and define your WHOLE life not just one part. This would include personal, professional, financial, and physical needs as well as your core values and beliefs. Consider this, one aspect such as financial independence will not be fulfilling and independence will not be gained if you have to sacrifice other priorities or compromise your ideals to achieve it.
2. Understand where your motivation is coming from.
How much pleasure will you create in your life by achieving independence? How painful will it be if you don't?
3. Believe you can have it ? you'll only see it AFTER you believe it. What would you attempt if you knew you couldn't fail?
4. Research your options.
Knowledge is power. Do your homework to clearly and factually understand the wide array of options and opportunities available.
5. Become comfortable knowing the difference between uncontrolled change and intelligent risk.
Risk is normally considered to be anything we don't know for sure. However decisions made and actions taken based on factual information and effective planning will help you succeed as you move beyond current limitations.
6. Create an action plan that expands your comfort zone.
Old scientific rules apply here ? First, for every action there is a reaction and second, once something (or someone) is stretched, it will never go back to being quite as small again. There is a common sense principal too ? to get what you've never had, you have to do what you've never done.
Too many people are too busy "fixing to get ready to get started to begin". Nike says it best, "Just do it."
8. Evaluate and adjust.
When something is working, stick with it. When something isn't working, don't give up ? change up! Change your approach based on the expanded experience you gained.
9. Remember experience is a learned process.
If you knew it all now, you'd already be joyfully independent. Enjoy the process and be kind to yourself along the way.
10. Liberate your passions and celebrate your uniqueness.
Break out from limiting thoughts and actions and set yourself free to attract whatever it is that makes you happy and fulfilled.

Are You an Emerging Champion?
In terms of life success, there are four pretty obvious levels of accomplishment: First is the class of the current winners ? those who have figured out what they what they want, and are taking focused action to attain their goals.
Emerging As Winners!
People like to emerge as winners by hook or crook and this is what one gets landed up in. It is human nature to desire to become rich, powerful, popular and famous always and forever. On the surface, it appears that we are competing with everyone else in this world and running a never-ending rat race. It is natural for all human beings to desire and work for wealth, power and prestige. Jesus Christ and Buddha and many others emerged as winners in the sense their preachings enriched people in the spiritual sense. People like Bill Gates or Jamshedji Tata, Godraj emerged as winners because they established business which catered to the needs of others.

The Four Key Traits of Highly Successful People
Recently, I was asked to write a Top 10 list about the secrets of success, and I spent time thinking about the most successful people I've known. There have been a thousand books and tape sets written about the "Secrets of Success", so the challenge was to see if I could add something new. I think I have at least found a new way of thinking about successful people.
The very first "motivational speaker" I heard as an adult was a gentleman named Mort Utley. I experienced his speech in May of 1989 in Nashville, Tennessee, at the end of a week of Sales School with the Southwestern Company. I was 19 years old and had just finished my freshman year at the University of Wisconsin, and Mr. Utley's speech was the final component of my formal training to sell educational books door-to-door for the summer. I was absolutely coming out of my skin with an indescribable combination of intense excitement and great fear. Mort Utley's speech made one of the most "un-motivational" statements I had ever heard. He said:
Overcoming The Fear Of Money
Many people, it seems, have a fear of money. Does the thought of having a lot of money make you uncomfortable? Cause you anxiety? If so, it may be that you are buying into the myths about money. Myths that are simply untrue. In fact, many of the most common statements about money are often misquoted, wrong, or were made by people who did not understand money ... or had none.
Creating Success - A Balance of Thinking and Doing
Why is it that most people still equate being successful with having pots of money? Why attaining as much money as possible seems to be the Holy Grail of Western Society?
Gracefully Accepting Feedback a Key Employment Skill
With the long-term trend of protecting employees' individual self esteem added to an overriding concern over expensive employee lawsuits, accountability is more a buzzword than a way of life at most companies.
The Secret Behind All Great Masterpieces: Lessons Learned!
The ten-year period which followed the stock market crash of October 1929 is referred to as the Great Depression. This time frame is considered to be the worst and most difficult of Modern American History by business historians. Unemployment was as high as 27% among White Americans and reached 60% in the African American community. In Mississippi, on a single day in 1932, one quarter of the entire state was auctioned off. Scarcity and limitations were everywhere to be seen. The Gross National Product of the country, that unit of measurement which represents everything that is produced nationwide fell by as much as 43%. The prices of wheat and corn and cotton fell so low, the crops were left to rot in the fields. Many businesses and families were wiped out.
Success By Performing Without An Audience - Is Anyone Listening?
To achieve success it can be important to keep going even if no one seems to be appreciating or even noticing what you are doing. Some people are not appreciated until after they have passed on into the next life. Hopefully, it won't take that long for the rest of us.

More and More and More and More
About six years ago I began to study tai chi. When I began, I had already been studying karate for several years, but my instructor encouraged me to add tai chi to enhance my martial arts abilities even further. It seemed interesting to me from the very beginning, but I was totally unprepared for what I have received. What I have learned is far beyond anything I ever expected.
Plan On Opposition to Your New Ideas. It?s Normal!
Lets face it, no one enjoys rejection. But the reality is, a new idea starts getting negative assaults within three seconds and thirty percent of people will readily oppose a new idea without even taking sufficient time to find out if the new idea is good or not. Whether your idea is convincing your friends to try a new place for lunch or getting the advertising budget doubled, it can be an uphill battle. As a knee-jerk response, its normal for people to say: thats dumb, we tried that, it costs too much; it will never work, you don't understand, etcetera!
